Along the trip, you will pass through picturesque places like Mussoorie and Purola. The 7-8 hours drive to the Sankri town is a beautiful experience, you will be surrounded by nature the entire way, with stunning landscapes, the aroma of a pine forest, and Himalayan flora and fauna. The total distance is approximately 185 km with the breathtaking and spectacular drive will win your heart right away. When you get to Sankri, check in to your hotel for a night stay. Enjoy a delicious dinner and have a good night’s sleep as the next day awaits you for a thrilling trek.
The next day, have your breakfast at 9 am in Sankri, and then we will start a short hike after breakfast that will mostly take us through a woodland. We will hike up to Juda-ka-Talab, a tiny pond that freezes over in the winter, and showcases a gorgeous view. The distance is around 3-4 km and would take 4-5 hours of trek to reach there. This lake has a spiritual significance and breathtaking vistas of snow-covered mountains. As we continue to ascend, we will catch glimpses of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks. We will continue hiking for another hour until we reach the meadows, where we will set up camp for the night and have dinner, and wander around the area with its mesmerizing views and scenic indulgence.
begins with having breakfast at 9 am in Juda-ka-Talab and embarking on our journey to the Kedarkantha base camp. The distance from the lake to the base camp is around 4 km and it will take 4-5 hours of trek to reach there. Start your journey, ascend, pass through a deep forest, and you will come to an open meadow. Stop and enjoy the breathtaking Himalayan views. Keep going through the pine forests till you arrive at your camp location, where Kedarkantha Peak is breathtaking. After that, take in the breathtaking vistas and enjoy a wonderful lunch. After lunch, take a stroll across the beautiful landscape of the base camp and spend time with your fellow trekkers. Sharing stories about your adventures with your group of travelers while dining and relaxing in your comfortable tents will make the evening enjoyable.
Reach the Kedarkantha summit from the base camp at 4 am in the morning. The climb is steep, but the distance to the peak is short. We will select the best path dependent on the snow conditions, and it will take us around 4-5 hours. Nothing is more exciting than standing atop a mountain and watching the sun come up. It astounds everyone who sees it. Come back from the summit, and have a wholesome lunch at Juda-ka-Talab, followed by a night stay and dinner.
The final day of the trek is here. Start your drive from Juda-ka-Talab to Sankri which will take approximately 2 hours for a 3-4 km drive. Eventually, on reaching Sankri, our driver will pick you up and you will be transferred back to Dehradun Railway Station.
